Customer Success · Onboarding · Restaurant Tech

I know restaurant owners because I was one.
I understand software because I build it.

5 years running restaurant floors, up to 1,000 covers a day. Alongside that, I design mobile apps with AI, including an order-taking app designed for my own restaurant. Based in Lyon, France, I want to bring this dual background to a software company serving restaurants and hospitality.

What I bring

Hands-on hospitality on one side, technical skills on the other, and the ability to connect them.

Real restaurant experience

General Manager and Assistant Manager (Big Mamma, Signorvino…), openings in Paris and Prague, hiring and training teams. I know what matters to a restaurant owner on a busy Saturday night.

Technical skills

Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, Supabase. Apps designed and shipped end to end with AI (Claude Code): I define the need, test in real conditions, and fix.

POS systems, from the customer side

Daily user of Lightspeed, Pokky and Pi Informatique. I know what a restaurant owner expects from their system, and what makes them give up on it.

Projects

Real apps, used and published, plus a reservation software prototype.

Case study · ChezPaul, table-side ordering

Built for Bouchon Chez Paul (Lyon), used during service · Demo on request

The need

In a busy traditional Lyon restaurant, every order has to be taken quickly and accurately. The manager needs to see how service is going without waiting for the till to close, and to understand sales to run the business.

What I built

An Android table-ordering app, used every day during service: covers, dishes, drinks, notes, group and kids' menus, service history and CSV/PDF exports.

The result

Revenue, covers and average spend are visible live during service. Using the exports, I analysed my sales with AI: best-selling dishes, lunch vs dinner differences, the impact of having one or two servers on the floor, digestifs sold per guest, average spend trends. Improved release after release, up to v1.6.

What I learned: I also built kitchen ticket printing (ESC/POS), but the restaurant's printer was proprietary and would not accept outside connections. Interoperability between POS systems is a real issue for restaurant owners, and I now understand it from both sides.

Tavola: restaurant reservation software

Web app prototype · Private code, demo on request

Why I built it: the reservation software we used at the restaurant had major limitations day to day. I prototyped the tool I needed during service, starting from each pain point:

  • Slow software → a lightweight, framework-free app with local data, built for speed.
  • A barely detailed arrivals list → reservations automatically sorted by urgency: late, arriving soon, upcoming, seated, unassigned, no-shows.
  • Little guest information → a guest database with tags (VIP, regulars, allergies…).
  • A basic calendar → a lunch/dinner service calendar showing covers.
  • No revenue tracking → a service dashboard: reservations, occupancy, covers, estimated revenue.
  • Plus: an interactive floor plan (move tables, zoom, assign reservations, conflict detection).

Unfinished prototype, due to lack of time. The data shown is demo data.

How I work with AI

AI speeds up the work; I stay in charge of the need, the decisions and the quality.

Start from the business need

I define the problem precisely, as I would with a restaurant owner: what is blocking, for whom, and at which moment of service.

Plan before producing

I have AI work through named steps, with a plan approved before every change. No coding in the dark.

Always verify

Code review, automated tests and continuous integration: nothing ships without being checked.

Set rules and document

Written rules (security, quality, conventions) that AI must follow on every project. The same habit helps when training a team.
